Can Cannabis Help Boost Your Energy?

We all have days where we are just dragging along. There are many factors that go into the level of energy we have throughout our days. Diet, exercise, occupation, sleep, lifestyle, and many more factors can affect how much energy we have from day to day. Fatigue and chronic fatigue can make you feel like you don’t have the energy to do anything.

Personally, I always struggle to find energy around the afternoon time, specifically about an hour or so after I eat lunch. This is about the time that I am looking for an energy boost - some sort of caffeine or exercise to wake me up. However, people with chronic fatigue have it much worse. They aren’t just dealing with some tired afternoons from time to time. Instead, fighting the urge to give up and crawl back into bed becomes a daily struggle. What kinds of things can one do to get a nice energy boost throughout the day? Caffeine? Exercise?

How about marijuana? That’s right - today we are going to be talking about using cannabis for a boost of energy. Now I know what you are thinking: marijuana usually makes people tired and lazy, right? Well, that is the case at times. But it also heavily depends on what types of cannabis products you are using, as well as the specific strain that you consume. There are some really positive benefits for using Marijuana to boost levels of energy, and I wanted to take some time to talk about that today.

So first off, let’s talk more about what can cause fatigue and energy loss. I already touched on it a little bit in the first paragraph, but I wanted to take some time to talk more about it now. One of the huge reasons that people feel fatigue in their life is due to lack of exercise. Many of us live sedentary lifestyles, spending too much time sitting down and working with our brains but not with our bodies. This creates a vicious cycle of being mentally exhausted at the end of the day, but not feeling that fatigue in your body.

By getting more exercise, such as going for a run or lifting weights, we allow our body to expend the energy it needs to kick your endorphins into gear and feel more at equilibrium. This is why working out and getting some sort of physical exercise is so important. Another reason that people can deal with chronic fatigue is due to nutritional deficiency.

Obviously, diet plays a huge role in our energy and mood. However, the nutritional deficiencies that I am addressing here are more than just what you are eating - vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins for our bodies in terms of energy and functionality. If you are not getting enough vitamin D, you are probably going to feel very sluggish and tired all the time. Other factors like mental health, insomnia, prescription medications, and more can all play a part in adding to our daily fatigue and lack of energy. So, what can marijuana do to increase your energy levels?

You need to keep in mind that there is a huge difference between certain types of marijuana strains. If you are looking for a cannabis strain that will boost your energy levels and help you to feel more motivated for a task, you are going to need to find a nice Sativa strain. Choosing a sativa strain is important because it will help you feel happier and slightly euphoric, but still allow you to focus and have more energy.

Are Senior Citizens Smoking Marijuana?

One of the great things about medical marijuana programs throughout the United States is that they offer a little something for everyone. Unless, of course, you find yourself living in a dumb state like Texas where medical marijuana is only allowed for patients with severe, life-ending conditions that leave them unable to function. Otherwise, might as well continue to use opioids as far as Texas lawmakers are concerned. Anyways, most other states that are more compassionate about helping residents use marijuana safely to treat their conditions offer multiple products and strains that give everybody something to work with. People in America that are older than 65 or 70 can probably think back to a time not too long ago where marijuana was completely illegal throughout the entire nation. Of course, that didn’t really stop people from using it at all, it just meant that getting your hands on cannabis was a bit harder. Nowadays, however, marijuana is more accessible in legal ways than ever before. But do senior citizens really want to or need to use marijuana?

After all, I can imagine that many older people are used to the stigma surrounding marijuana usage - it makes you lazy, it makes you poor, and it’s a gateway to using harder and more dangerous drugs. This is the reality that many people grew up in during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. However, with the introduction of more medical marijuana programs throughout the United States, there is a huge increase in the amount of older patients that are using it. Even more surprising, they are actually smoking weed! Today I wanted to shed some light on this subject and give our older folks a bit more love in the medical marijuana industry.

So are senior citizens really starting to use marijuana more often? Yes! Reports show that, over the last 5 years, the number of adults in the United States over the age of 65 that use marijuana has greatly increased. Sure, it has been a slow climb from back in 2018, but we are still getting there. In my opinion, the older generation houses the type of people that would most benefit from medical marijuana. After all, older people generally deal with more chronic illness, pain, and diseases that can prevent them from happily living out the rest of their retirement days. And many of those exact conditions are conditions that can be treated with medical marijuana. Now I know what you are thinking - my grandma would never smoke weed! Well, you may be surprised to find out that more and more older patients prefer various methods of cannabis inhalation over edibles, tinctures, or topicals. This all depends on the type of conditions being treated and the products that are available to them in their state, so keep that in mind.

Anyways, I think that it is important for older people to have alternative options to using opioids and other harmful prescriptions since marijuana can be used to treat many of the same conditions. Senior citizens shouldn’t have to take upwards of 12 different medications each day - that can get super expensive and dangerous. Using cannabis just makes a lot of sense for when you are older. It lowers inflammation, fights pain, helps to boost mood and metabolism, and ultimately leads to more happiness and fulfillment. Anyways, that is all I really had to say in this post. Having access to various marijuana strains and products is super important for our society, especially since we come to better understand mental and physical health care. I hope that you learned something and that you can smoke a joint later tonight!

Best Marijuana Strains for Helping You Sleep at Night

Picture this: it’s a Thursday afternoon and you’re steadily working at the office, dealing with some 2:00pm fatigue like you always do. Around this time, you normally find yourself wishing you could just be at home in bed, falling asleep to the rhythm of your artificial noise maker. You make it home, greet the cat, cook dinner, watch some Netflix, and around 9:00pm or so you decide to call it quits. You’re too tired and you just need to go to bed.

However, as soon as you go through your nightly routine and clamber into bed, you can’t even fall asleep. You end up just sitting on your phone scrolling through social media while the hours roll by. Before you know it, it’s 3:00am and you haven’t gotten a lick of sleep. Is this a reality for you? It is for millions of Americans throughout the United States. Since many of us live rather sedentary lives, sometimes bodies have trouble feeling the same exhaustion that our minds do. This can cause us to lose sleep night after night. In fact, more than 35% of American adults have insomnia, according to a study done recently.

If you are one of those people, then you also are probably aware of how ineffective sleeping pills and other medications can be. However, have you ever thought about using marijuana for sleeping? The idea is not crazy. If you have ever used marijuana before, then you are likely familiar with how effective it can be as a sleep aid. Cannabis can help to calm your body and your mind, while allowing you to feel extremely comfortable in your bed and avoid all of that tossing and turning. In this article today, I am going to be talking about how marijuana can help you take back control of your sleep, and what specific cannabis strains may be the most helpful.

Since marijuana has not been legal for very long, at least, in proportion to other medications and drugs, we do not have a lot of medical research that explains certain effects it has on the human mind and body. However, we do know that the system in our body that deals with sleep and resting is heavily influenced by marijuana. Using THC and CBD from cannabis, medical experts hope that more Americans with insomnia can avoid using harmful medications that ultimately lead to addiction and worse sleep overall.

The truth about using marijuana as a sleep aid is that the type of strain you use matters. It is important to keep in mind that there are well over 700 different strains of cannabis, and each one has its own unique properties and effects. The most important part about picking a strain of marijuana, for any reason, is that it best suits your needs and current conditions. For better sleeping, most experts recommend a cannabis strain that offers a high amount of CBD, as well as indica based THC. If you are not familiar with cannabis strains and terms, this might sound weird to you. However, I can go ahead and recommend some of the best marijuana strains for helping you sleep at night so that you have to do the hard research yourself.

The first strain that I would recommend for helping you sleep at night is one called Gelato - and yes, this strain is just as delicious as it sounds! This strain of marijuana is also known as Larry Berry, and it yields a sweet fruit aroma and flavor that will leave you extremely satisfied. You will also find yourself incredibly relaxed and happy as you drift off to sleep.
