Marijuana for Menopause

One aspect that we don’t normally discuss with cannabis is how it can help certain conditions.  When a women experiences this, it can cause a lot of dramatic changes, and this can make you feel like you’re going through another puberty. How can cannabis help with this though? Read on to find out.

About Menopause

This is when a woman’s menstrual habits come to an end during a part of 12 months or so. the problem, however, is this always isn’t pleasant and may include insomnia, pain, and even mood swings as well. Perimenopause is a period where the disturbances happen right before menopause as well. Usually before and during this part, women start to feel their menstrual cycles markedly change, and the hormones vastly change. This happens at about 35 and then lasts until a woman hits menopausal stage.  It usually means that you’ll have a risk for weight gain, UTIs, and also other major health issues too.

This is something that can be tacked with the endocannabinoid system too, since this helps with the body, and is the system that you need. The endocannabinoid system is also a big part of the cessation of fertility, and this is something that also is linked to the estrogen regulation and the mood controls too, all of which contribute to menopause. Typically, the symptoms of menopause include, but aren’t limited to the following.

  • Dryness of the vaginal and uterine area

  • Hot flashes, heart palpitations, and night sweats

  • Dizziness, headaches, and stiffness,

  • Back pain and chest discomfort

  • Incontinence

  • Fatigue and insomnia

  • Trouble concentration

  • Anxiety

  • Memory issues

  • Depression

  • Libido loss

This is something that is being studied directly with the endocannabinoid system and the transition of this.  Menopause also increases the risk of osteoporosis too, and it can cause issues with bone resorption too, making them brittle

How Cannabis helps

Cannabis consumption in general is great for hot flashes for starters, and it does regulate the temperature of the body. this is usually due to anandamide, which does have the same effects that THC does in regulating the body temperature. Finding the right balance is a big part of this, but it can help with that

Another benefit is the management of pain, since this is great for those that deal with a lot of problems, as it can help to dull the pain that’s there. This is great for stiffness of the joints, and lower back pain too. Sleep deprivation is another one. While there aren’t any studies, there are different people who attest to the fact that these cannabinoids can help, including anandamide and THC, along with what’s called Marinol, which helps with improving sleep, helps with serenity, and decreases the chance that you might wake up in the middle of the night sometimes.

Anxiety is another thing this can treat, since this can help with the cannabinoid receptor agonists, and the anxiolytic properties at low dosages do the opposite at the higher concentrations too, so if you deal with anxiety, it can help, especially if you take a lot of this.

Finally, it helps with libido issues, which is a common frustration at this stage of life.  CBD can help with blood flow to the reproductive organs, and CBD also does contain anti-estrogenic parts to it, which also may help with libido during this, especially when the estrogen is lost. CBD and cannabis products can help, and they can assist you if you’re someone who is going through menopause and wants to alleviate the effects that it creates too.
